If you have read this post, it is probably because, on certain occasions, you have noticed that when taking a photo or video from your device Annoying black bands appear that do not allow the result obtained to be what you are looking for.
Therefore, it is important that you know that this annoying flickering it does not correspond to an error that your phone has, but it is an effect derived from the rate of frequency with which the spotlights, lamps or screens that are present in our captures work, and in this post we show you how you can avoid it.
Why does this effect occur on our phone
Before explaining how you can avoid this annoying flickering, we must know what the causes of its appearance are. In this case, we must bear in mind that the human eye cannot perceive the on and off changes of a bulb, lamp or screen, something that the camera of our device can perceive thanks to its capabilities.
These are capable of capture frequencies above 50 Hz, and even in slow motion recordings they are capable of perceiving frequencies above 240 Hz. Therefore, the phone is able to detect when the illumination of a spotlight, lamp or screen turns off and on continuously, an effect derived from the energetic fluctuation produced by alternating current when transforming into direct current.
How to avoid flickering light in photos and videos on your Xiaomi phone
Although this effect is present in any camera that we find on the market, It is possible to reduce these bands or high frequency flicker from the settings of the camera application of our phone.
To do this, we will simply have to:
- Access the Camera app of your Xiaomi phone
- From the upper right corner of the screen, access the settings of the application itself
- Once inside, go down and select the option “Anti bands”
Within this menu, we can choose the desired frequency rate, either 50 Hz, 60 Hz or leave it fully automatic, so our phone will take care of regulating it by itself to avoid this annoying flickering.
Our advice is that you alternate between the three options until the effect disappears but, if it does not, you can resort to reducing the shutter speed of the photograph by accessing the Pro mode that we find within the MIUI camera application.
