Audio-Technica is already preparing the new winter season and for this they have announced the launch of the ATH-S220BT, a priori interesting wireless headphones that promise to integrate the good know-how of the brand with a affordable price and some benefits that point to higher ranges.
Featuring a large padded headband supraural design and plastic main frame to lower the weight of the device up to 180 grams, the helmets feature a closed loudspeaker and an elegant exterior design available in white, black and blue.
Inside the pavilions, also padded, we find 40mm drivers capable of achieving a frequency response between 5 Hz and 32 KHz under a sensitivity of 105 dB / mW and an impedance of 32 ohm.
We can use them well through a link Bluetooth 5.0 with battery life for up to 60 hours continuous operation that is recharged using a USB-C cable or the USB-A to USB-C adapter supplied in the package. But it is also possible to use them directly by connecting a 1.2 meter cable included to its 3.5mm jack port.
The headphones have a built-in omni-directional microphone with a wider-than-average frequency response, covering the range of 50 Hz to 4 KHz and that we can use to answer voice calls from the mobile, controlling both the musical reproduction and the microphone from the physical buttons located in the right wing.
The ATH-S220BT are compatible with the Fast Pair function so that they connect to an Android terminal only by bringing the equipment closer, and with Multipoint Pairing, which allows us to have them paired with several devices at the same time (for example a phone and a PC) without having to disconnect it every time we want to use one or the other. They will also have compatibility with Google Assistant and Siri.
Price and availability
The headphones ATH-S220BT will go on sale on September 10 on the manufacturer’s website for a price of 69 euros.
