After the success of ‘Alba’ during its time on Antena 3, Atresmedia is now preparing to launch its new adaptation of a Turkish series: on April 17, Atresplayer will premiere ‘wounds‘, the national remake of ‘Mother’ and we can already see its first trailer.
Starring Adriana Ugarte, María León and little Cosette Silguero, the series follows the story of Manuela, a biologist (Ugarte) who will come across a seven-year-old girl who is neglected by both her mother (León) and her boyfriend. Soon Manuela will see the need to protect this girl as she deals with her own past.
Javier Collado, Elisabet Gelabert, Sonia Almarcha, Pau Durá, Xoán Fórneas and Iván Marcos complete the cast of this intense drama about child abandonment that has been presented at the last Malaga festival and is one of the big bets of this first half of the year for the network.
an international phenomenon
Although this production is based on the success of Turkish fiction, this in turn is based on the original Japanese series. One of the appreciable differences is that the protagonist here she is a biologist and not a teacher as in the other versions of the format.
Eduardo Galdo, Lele Portas, Marco T. Socorro, Joana Ortueta, Humberto Ortega, and Natalia García-Prieto make up the script team for ‘Wounds’, which consists of thirteen fifty-minute episodes directed by Tito Lopez Amado and Juanma Pachon. The executive production is carried out by Montse García, Sonia Martínez and Eduardo Galdo.
Manuela is a young woman who lives alone in a cabin where she studies Andalusian wetlands. At 28 years old, her life revolves around birds, those that live there and those that are just passing through like her. A few kilometers from her lives Alba, a seven-year-old girl who never has anyone to make her breakfast. Her mother, Yolanda, works at night as a pole dancer and sleeps during the day. Her boyfriend, Lucho, is not in the business of taking care of a girl that is not his. The house is a mess of objects and schedules. Alba, as she can, attends school, many times with nothing in her stomach. The day that Manuela finds little Alba, they will begin a journey that will force Manuela to confront the demons of her past and to question the pillars of her life.
