At the South American level we only surpass Bolivia, which currently has 10 legionnaires. Afterwards, we are very far from direct rivals with whom we will fight to qualify for the next World Cup. As is the case of Chile (68), Ecuador (82), Paraguay (150), Venezuela (150).
Talking about Brazil and Argentina is unnecessary, since these are two nations that are one step above everything in Conmebol. However, Colombia does deserve a special mention. It has 448 ‘foreign’ players. Simply put, almost 18 times more than our representatives. A fact not minor.

With its 25 representatives, Peru is located among countries where they have not had great results from soccer. Even though they have never qualified for a World Cup in their history: Zimbabwe (28), Estonia (25), Luxembourg (23) and Zambia (20). This only reflects the very poor level of Peruvian exports.

Our representatives
The main destination is the United States. The MLS has the presence of six Peruvians, highlighting the selected Pedro Gallese (Orlando City), Raúl Ruidíaz (Seattle Sounders), Wilder Cartagena (Orlando City), Luis Abram (Atlanta United) and Miguel Trauco (San José). The last to join was Sebastien Pineau, who joined Austin FC.
Mexico has been par excellence a fixed place for national soccer players to land. This has been maintained over time and today there are four ambassadors that represent our colors in Aztec lands. Here we have Anderson Santamaría (Atlas), Pedro Aquino (América), Edison Flores (Atlas) and Diether Vásquez (Mineros).
Argentina has the football of Luis Advíncula (Boca Juniors) and Paolo Guerrero (Racing). Same number of players who are active in Saudi Arabia and Spain. Although one more could be added in the Asian country, since Christian Cueva has a current contract with Al-Fateh, this destination was one of the last to open the door for bicolor talent. A league where André Carrillo (Al-Hilal) and Cristofer Gonzáles (Al-Adalah) are the undisputed starters.

It should be noted that in this count, Peruvian players born abroad were not considered. The idea was to measure how many soccer players currently represent their country in a foreign league. For this reason, Gianluca Lapadula (Cagliari), Santiago Ormeño (Mexico) and Catriel Cabellos (Racing) were not taken into account, for example.
