For her part, Yenniferth Becerra, director of the Artequin Museum, said that “the invitation is to a journey through the history of art in a different way. From the game and the curiosity to discover. Because the methodology we use has to do with the assembly and the pixels; “a contemporary way of seeing an image based on color.”
“This allows us to understand how visual language has been transformed over time and that Now there are a lot of filters on the phones themselves that bring us closer to reality from other means“, it states .
A mix of gameplay, images, technology and art
On the other hand, the Director also comments that “this exhibition shares a much deeper relationship with the game. We experimented with the images and, from that, we realized that a portrait could also be made with a sculpture, allowing us to experiment with lace, assemblages and pieces.” That's where the name of the exhibition was born: “Part x Part. Pieces for a portrait”, because the pixel and these elements are parts that allow us to put together a whole. Just like in the image of your computer and the world of technology.
