The platforms of Artificial intelligence have grown enormously throughout 2023. All thanks to sites like ChatGPTMidjourney, Google Bard and even Bing Chat that have demonstrated unprecedented performance.
In recent months, repeated concern has arisen about the future of the labor market with the development of these systems, which in some areas have proven to be relatively efficient.
Different job positions seem to run a serious risk in the short and medium term. There are even some disturbing cases where we begin to glimpse how Artificial Intelligence would have come to alter industries.
But for the CEO of Softbank this would only be the beginning of a new era and it would be only a matter of time before the change reached beyond jobs and AI completely surpassed the intellectual capacity of the human race.
CEO of Softbank: human intelligence would be surpassed by Artificial Intelligence in a decade
Masayoshi Son, the CEO of the renowned Japanese company in the Information Technology (IT) sector, Softbank, said last Wednesday, October 4, 2023 that he believes that Artificial Intelligence will surpass human intelligence within ten years.
In statements reported by colleagues from ABC Newsthe executive urged Japanese companies to adopt AI systems to avoid falling behind in relation to the pace at which the sector has grown:
“Artificial general intelligence will exceed the total intelligence of humanity 10 times in 10 years.
It will affect all industries, from transportation and pharmaceuticals to finance, manufacturing, logistics and others. Companies and people working with AI will be the leaders in the next 10 to 20 years.
“I want to be on the side of progress. “It would be sad to be on the side that is left behind, like an old, closed street.”
Son sent that strong message during his speech at a corporate conference in Tokyo, where he expressed his fear that Japan will be left behind in this race.
But also trusting that the youth and new generations have enough potential to move their country forward in this silent fight.
Son, who founded Softbank and is a leading figure in Japan’s business world. At the time he bet everything on the predominant weight that the Internet would have for the industry and society.
Now it seems that it repeats exactly the same move, but taking Artificial Intelligence systems as its axis.
