There are 3.25 million Mexicans who do not receive income for the work they do.
There are 13.61 million Mexican workers who earn income of up to a minimum wage.
50 percent of people prefer a competitive salary in their jobs.
Offering a competitive salary today contributes to reducing informality in the labor market, which allows companies from various branches to fill their job vacancies more quickly. That is why a team of researchers from Stanford works on an Artificial Intelligence (AI) capable of predicting the salary range that will be offered for a job.
It is increasingly common to see job offers where they offer less or more than the salary established in their vacancy, but also many times depending on the environment and the sector in which they seek work, some do not reflect the salary range, so it is an uncertainty for applicants.
The salary evaluation is an indicator that allows knowing the average salary of certain positions in relation to those offered in the labor market. In this sense, the importance of salary competitiveness is an issue that has always been on the table of any company in the world.
A poll conducted by Robert Halfdetails that not offering a competitive salary is, according to the responses of the executives surveyed, one of the reasons that slows down the hiring process and makes it difficult to attract top talent. In addition, according to the study of the brand that is dedicated to human resources, unattractive remuneration can lead to the loss of good professionals.
Another study called “Trends in the Work Environment in Mexico 2018 (TELM)”developed by Kelly Services, threw at the question “what would your company have to do to make you feel more loyal to it?”that 50 percent of those surveyed prefer a competitive salary.
In Mexico, most workers earn very low wages, and according to data from the National Survey of Occupation and Employment, published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI)from 2021, 3.25 million Mexicans do not receive income for the work they do.
Second, the report states that there is 13.61 million people who earn income of up to a minimum wage; while there are 19.94 million who receive labor income between one and two minimum wages per month. The foregoing means that at the end of 2021, 65 percent of those who have an occupation in the country, obtain a maximum of two minimum wages per day, which according to what is established by the Conasami has a value of 172.87 Mexican pesos per day.
This artificial intelligence tells you how much your salary should be
A team of Stanford researchers have developed an AI that helps assess offers based on the salary range of each applicant, in order to put an end to the uncertainty that many companies practice by not showing the salary they offer in their vacancies.
The researchers detailed that this artificial intelligence is capable of predicting, with 86 percent accuracy, the salary range that should be offered for a job. Likewise, The scientists explain that this technology has a learning process that involves analyzing and evaluating the texts of thousands of job interviews to establish patterns.
“The simplicity of the writing of many interviews facilitates learning, although, of course, it is not infallible,” they refer.
With this artificial intelligence, the applicants or even the employees of a company will be able to know in advance the salary in a job offer, and thus know without much waste of time if it is beneficial for both parties. Specialists emphasize that knowing this information can be beneficial, since it demonstrates transparency and trust of people in a company.
With this technological development we see the importance that the use of artificial intelligence takes on every day in many areas of life, since the consultancy PwCestimates that in the next 10 years, AI will move around 16 billion dollars in the world economy, for what many consider it as the greatest challenge and the greatest opportunity that humanity has today.
