When you have fish and cats in the same house, it is common to see that the felines are especially curious to learn more about these aquatic animals. Their curiosity is so great that there are michis that stick their paws in to play with them and even manage to get them out of the water.
It seems that this kitten was caught several times with its paw in the fish tank, so its owner decided to invent a fish tank with a small window so that it could interact with its fish.
Melissa Krieger is a girl from Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States, who through her social networks revealed the personalized fish tank with a 360-degree underwater view designed especially for her cat Jasper.
After being caught trying to get the fish out of the tank on several occasions, before a tragedy occurred, Melissa opted to have a tank built with a special space for her cats to stick their heads in and play with the fish without putting them in the water. danger.
We have a tank in the same place since our house was built 15 years ago. I have four cats and a chair next to the tank. They all sat and watched the fish from time to time. This tank was installed in December and it took about a month for any cats to actually come up and check it out. We didn’t want to force anything, but soon the cats’ curiosity took over and Jasper was the first to do it.
The fish tank was designed with very specific features by Cincinnati-based Aquarium Aquatics and Exotics.
The idea came about while Melissa and Jason, the aquarium owner, were watching the cats look at the fish, so Melissa thought it would be fun to create pop-up areas inside the tank for the cats. Jason thought it was a good idea, so he began to draw the design, put together a budget and presenting it to the girl, he thought it was fair and built it.
In addition to Jasper, the girl has three other expenses, Willow (Jasper’s biological sister), Indigo and Cobalt, two Russian Blues, two dogs and three fish tanks, one freshwater, one saltwater and one with turtles.
I have had tanks all my life so I love watching my fish. I have been a client of Jason’s for 15 years, so we are good friends.
The first to explore the fish tank was Jasper, since of all the cats that Melissa has, he is always the first to check the new toys or the scratching post.
Once Jasper started climbing in it, I made the video to show the tank creator that he was finally being explored by one of the cats.
Through her jasperthecatfish account on TikTok and Facebook, the girl shares videos of the kittens sticking their heads in the window of the fish tank while watching the fish swim like nothing.
In the footage, Jasper can be seen climbing up and peering out of the specially designed cubical window under the fish tank. From that space he can observe all the fish that swim around him, he even gets to play with his legs when a fish passes near the other side of the glass.
However, Jasper isn’t the only one who enjoys this incredible view, Willow, another of Melissa’s kitties, also enjoys seeing the fish, so they must take turns going to the window of the fish tank.

I really think they either enjoy it or they don’t care at all. This interaction has been going on for years. Fish, especially parrots (large orange ones), are very social with all of our cats.
Although at first Melissa only shared photos and videos of the fish tank on her personal Facebook profile, she later decided to open social networks under the name of Jasper, but she never imagined how viral the peculiar design of her fish tank would become.
