Apple’s first augmented reality headset wouldn’t be cheap, although it would only be the beginning.
A few weeks ago, there was talk of how Tim Cook wanted to leave Apple after the launch of a revolutionary latest product. A final play with which to close this chapter of its history. And, as is customary, speculation soon began about what it might be. And the truth is that Apple’s first augmented reality glasses they sound enough to occupy that place.
It’s no secret that Apple has been working on these kinds of technologies for years. A few years ago they launched tools dedicated to the development of apps for AR with ARKit, which have helped to create quite interesting experiences for the iPhone and iPad. In addition, Tim Cook does not stop pointing to augmented reality as one of the great technologies of the moment.
However, it remains to be seen where the path that Apple has been creating leads to. Something that would begin to be clarified next year, with the launch of its first AR helmet. According Digitimes, this would begin to be mass produced in the first half of 2022, with a pitch in the second half. Of course, it would not be a product aimed at consumers.
According to the same report, this would be the first product of two planned, and is planned as a development team and for companies, with cost probably more than $ 2,000. The second product would be the long-awaited “glasses”, which would depend on an iPhone, and whose design does not seem to have been finalized yet. In fact, production is not expected to start until after 2023.
In both cases, we have two products with really attractive possibilities. However, there is still time to know if they will really be as revolutionary as Apple itself seems to hope. But, if they play their cards right, everything indicates that we could be facing another launch as crucial as the iPhone was.
