Yes, we are still in awe of the design of the new iMac, but Apple does not rest. The company, through the patents that are being discovered, allows us to glimpse what designs and components you experiment with to create the Macs of the future.
Screens with slots for MacBooks that measure your pulse
One of these patents (the one you can see in the header image) describes an iMac built on a single piece of glass, with a part of that glass showing the screen and then curving towards the table where a keyboard would be integrated. The keys would be physical, and there would be side areas that could act as trackpads.
A separate piece would act as a support leg for the piece of glass, although an alternative design of the patent is considering the possibility of using the glass as a MacBook monitor that can be inserted into a central slot. The appearance of the schematics is very futuristic, although the final appearance can change a lot.
Another recently discovered patent is that of integrate health sensors into MacBooks, right in the area of the sides of the trackpad where we usually rest our hands while we write. The technical part of these sensors, made up of diodes, is already solved in the Apple Watch, so that it would only be necessary to make room in the laptop to be able to place them.
In this way the computer could be integrated with the Health app to be able to measure our heart rate or our temperature, among other conditions. Interesting for those who do not have an Apple Watch. The document also covers the possibility of integrating these sensors in other computers and accessories of the brand.
Remember that we are talking about patents, which means that we do not have to trust them and believe that we are going to see those designs come true. The only thing we can say about it is that, as always, Apple is already experimenting with long-term product redesigns.
