The medical company Masimo filed a lawsuit against Apple, who allegedly would have had contact with employees of the brand itself to reveal secrets of their projects ‘under the guise of a working relationship.’
According to Bloomberg , in 2013, Apple sought out the medical company to learn about the operation of its patient monitoring technology. After being rejected any approach, they claim that they began to “steal” personal from both Masimo and Cercacor , a sister company. One of them was Michael O’Reilly, who was a medical director and vice president of medical affairs at Masimo .
Similarly, the claim refers to Apple being infringing 10 of its patents . Which are implemented in the Apple Watch heart rate sensor.
Masimo ask to block the use of such technology by Apple , as well as compensation for damages. Likewise, they seek that four patents registered by a former Masimo employee be assigned to Masimo engineers.
