Apple announced the launch of a kit to be able to fix one of your iPhones from your home without having to resort to a professional. Find out everything here!
The renowned company Manzana launched a very interesting proposal, the Apple Self Service Repair (home repair program)which basically consists of a program that provides the user with everything necessary to fix some iPhone without the need to turn to a professional.
The service is limited to some devices, as it is only available for iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and the third generation of iPhone SE. What can be bought at the moment are spare parts for batteries, cameras and screens. These can only be found at USA in stores specializing in cell phone repairs. And the purchase of the part includes an official installation manual from Manzana. The advantage is that, if you don’t want to spend money on the tools, they can be rented for a week.
But this program not only reaches USAbut will reach some other parts of the world at some point in 2022. The first continent that this program will reach is Europe. This proposal not only extends to iPhone, since at some point in the year the spare parts for macbooks.
The announcement of this program came almost at the same time that it became known that Manzana doubled the size of its repair network. One of the statistics in the report says that eight out of ten of its American customers live 20 minutes from an authorized repair service. The company also commented that the reasons behind the design and repair decisions, including the emphasis on the use of official parts, is to protect the user’s privacy and security.
The latter is due to the fact that in order to buy the repair kitwe have to announce the serial number of the iPhone when we want to make the purchase and activate the part that we just bought with a software pairing. This is to prevent us from repairing the device with people who are not trustworthy or who want to sell us an unofficial part as if it were an official one. For now, it remains to wait for Manzana comment when this program will arrive Argentina.
