Apple would finally be about to renew its line of monitors and it would do so in a way that was as unexpected as it was interesting, taking an important leap to turn your Mac screen into a Smart TV that would not depend on a CPU to operate.
Apple has always been distinguished by its constant search for innovation, although in recent years we have seen this intermittent trend where they have so many product lines that the deep renewal of each line happens every few years.
This is how we see that one year the boys from Cupertino are dedicated to improving the camera of their iPhone line, the next the iPad line finally receives improvements in its technical specifications, the next it is the turn of the Apple Watch, and so on.
Under such dynamics, whole years would have passed where the company kept its line of desktop computers and particularly its complementary accessories relatively abandoned. But that would soon be a thing of the past, just before the arrival of the VisionPro.
The new monitor for the Apple Mac would literally be a Smart TV
According to mark gurman According to a Bloomberg insider, Apple is reportedly working on a new display with a standalone chip customized by Apple for its new line of Mac monitors that could allow the display to be used completely independently, technically becoming a Smart. TV.
The rumor has been circulating for quite some time that Apple would be actively working on renewing its family of screens and this report seems to fit everything in that sense.
Even rumors suggest that this screen could emulate some functions similar to those of StandBy that will be implemented with the future iOS 17.
Is Apple working on new monitors? https://t.co/8ckDBoM18Q
I’m told Apple is working on multiple next-generation monitors, including a large-screen panel with an iOS device chip and software stack. The idea is that the screen could double as a Mac monitor and a smart home display…

Gurman for now points out in his most recent report that these monitors could incorporate a chip similar to the Bionic processors of the A series that Apple has already been present in the iPhone family for a long time, but it is impossible to corroborate all this.
It should be noted, though, that the latest Apple Studio Display does indeed feature an A13 chip for camera and speaker-related software functionality.
It will be necessary to wait a little longer to see if this screen will be a reality and if Apple would take such a robust leap to the point of turning a simple monitor into a Smart TV complementary to the Mac.
Fortunately the answer would not be very far.
