Apple today released watchOS 7.3.1, a minor operating system update for Apple Watch. watchOS 7.3.1 comes a few weeks after the release of watchOS 7.3 and obviously contains nothing new.
A corrective update for watchOS 7 intended for Apple Watch 5 and SE
The watchOS 7.3.1 update can be downloaded for free via the Apple Watch app on iPhone by going to General> Software Update. To install the new software, Apple Watch must have at least 50% battery power, it must be placed on a charger, and it must be within range of the iPhone.
According to Apple’s release notes, the watchOS 7.3.1 update introduced a fix for an issue that prevented some Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE models from charging after going into “Power Reserve” mode.
watchOS 7.3, the previous update, brought a Time to Walk feature for Apple Fitness +, ECG functionality to new countries like Japan, and added a new Unity watch face. Apple is also working on watchOS 7.4, a major update that notably allows you to use the Apple Watch to unlock an iPhone while wearing a mask. You also need iOS 14.5 on the paired iPhone.
