Manzana just announced that the price of apps will change in some countries, and contrary to what usually happens, the change will make apps and in-app purchases drop in price in certain parts of the world. This is information that Apple has communicated to the developers.
These changes are usually due to differences in exchange rates, Apple uses the dollar as a bargaining chip, since possible changes in taxes from certain countries.
«When taxes or exchange rates change, we sometimes need to update prices in the App Store in certain regions and / or adjust your income. In the coming days, prices for apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) on the App Store will decrease in some countries.«
App Store prices will drop in Spain
As reported by the company, prices of apps and games from the App Store will decrease in the following countries:
- South Africa
- United Kingdom
- All territories that use the euro as currency
In addition to this information, Apple also reveals that it will raise the prices of apps in two other countries: Georgia and Tajikistan. In this case the rise is due to a new tax that has been approved in these countries of 18% on added value. There will also be an increase in the income of developers living in Italy due to a change with the effective rate of the Digital Services Tax.
The developer income will be adjusted accordingly and will be calculated based on the new price that will begin to arrive in the App Store in the next few days. Developers can change the price of apps and in-app purchases on App Store Connect at any time.
