Apple takes full control of the development of its vehicle project, although we do not yet know if it will have any results.
The Apple Car seems to be having a much more bumpy development than they expected even from Apple itself. Just a few days ago, the company launched the invitations for its keynote on September 14, a news that caught all the attention. In the meantime, Apple had just lost its chief Apple Car manager before Ford.
Those from Cupertino have been working on this first step in the automotive market for several years now. However, this implies not a few challenges, some that have not been faced before. In order to carry it out, they considered working with other more experienced manufacturers. Now, there are those who say that Apple could have decided to go it alone.
In a news shared by MacRumors, what part of the news of the Korean newspaper Maeil Economic Daily, indicates that Apple would have made the decision to avoid further delays. Car manufacturers would not be very interested in producing the vehicles designed by the Californian company, especially when they are working on their own electric cars.
Still, Apple would have relaunched its R&D division for automotive hardware. A division that had ceased to function a few years ago, while another responsible for the development of autonomous driving software continued to operate. And now the company I would be looking for suppliers for vehicle components.
As for the possible launch date of the Apple Car, the truth is that it is still not entirely clear what the result of the project will be. According to experts like Mark Gurman, if there was an Apple Car, its launch would still be far away, beyond even 2025. So, we are going to need a lot of patience to see if we will finally have an Apple-designed car in California.
