Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise popularized the kart racing game subgenre, inspiring countless imitations over the years. Often these kart racing games are based on established IP as the main attraction for people, and this seems to be the case with the upcoming “Warped Kart Racers”, a new kart racing game that will be released this month on AppleArcade.
The subscription service apple-arcade for Apple devices will soon have Warped Kart Racers, a strange kart racing game starring characters from various adult cartoons. The game will include 20 playable characters at launch, with characters such as peter griffin of family man, Stan Smith from american dad, Hank Hill of The King of the Hill, and others.
Warped Kart Racers It will not only feature the characters from these popular shows, but it will also have 16 tracks based on these series. This includes tracks based on Arlen, Texas from King of the Hill and Quahog from Family Guy.
Given the Warped Kart Racers is a mobile racing game, some might write it off immediately, but it looks like it will be a complete experience. It includes regular races and Mario Kart-style battles, a single-player campaign, 8-player multiplayer matches, daily challenges, a host of customization options, and much more.
As far as licensed kart racing games go, it looks like it has the potential to be one of the best on the market. Granted, it’s highly unlikely that it’ll be able to take on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as the best kart racing game, but it should be something fun for Apple Arcade subscribers.
It’s unclear if there will be an Android version or a console port, but maybe it will be a possibility later if the Apple Arcade version is popular enough.
