Apex Legends surprised everyone with its 14th season, as Respawn Entertainment tweaked a few things to freshen up the battle royale experience, as well as the addition of Vantage to the ever-growing roster of Legends.
Something that we find quite curious is that, the update also brought long-awaited changes that were requested by the community, such as an increase in the level cap, the removal of auto-revive shields, and a ton of weapon adjustments. The community isn’t sold on all of the developer’s decisions, as players have now banded together to demand that Respawn revert the changes to the ring.

In the August 9 update, the developers made adjustments to the game’s ring system, increasing the damage of the first ring from 2 to 3 hp per tick and decreasing the pre-shrink time from 180 seconds to 60. Additionally, the closing time of the ring increased on each map.
As noted in a recent Reddit thread, players are dissatisfied with the changes, as the community has lashed out at the developers and called for the changes to be reverted. “The new ring changes are too much,” one fan wrote. “The distance you have to go, how quickly the ring starts moving doesn’t give you time to loot, if the ring is far enough away, the damage at the close of round 1 is only enough to kill you if you’re not accumulating medkits.
Just finding a syringe feels like a miracle. “We need jump towers, or at least reduce storm damage. The wrap up of round 2 feels like round 3 of season 13.” “I find myself looking for heals more than ammo,” said one player.
“I just think it’s crazy that they removed the number of jump towers the same season they changed the rings. You basically have to change your playstyle completely with no time to adjust to it,” added another. The changes in the ring have certainly shaken up the pace of the game for better or worse. But we’ll have to wait and see if the developers revert the changes after an outcry from the community.
