The actor Anthony Starrwho plays Homelander has taken over the screens within the series TheBoysfrom Amazon Prime Video, since he has been the main antagonist of the series so far, however, it was not until the third season that the success of Prime Video, that the character was officially made public as a villain, where he does not come out publicly until the final moments of the third season.
So, as the actor has mentioned, his character will only get more unhinged from here on out, saying that the supervillain is living out a horrible and pointless fantasy, which makes him do a lot of crazy things: “I think the character’s endgame is in direct opposition and opposition to reality. I think he would love to have a family. And I think it’s all dressed up as fantasy. It’s all wrapped up in fantasy, everything that he really wants.”
“And I think if I ever got what I wanted, I wouldn’t know how to stop. I think it needs to push against something to have some kind of identity and it doesn’t really have much of an identity. So God help the world if he gets what he wants.”
Just as during another interview, Starr said that the fantasy included annihilating the entire world: “I think the happy ending of Homelander would be him wiping out everyone in the world and sitting alone in a bloody wasteland with no one to mess with him. I don’t think there’s a redemption story for Homelander.”
“I really wouldn’t want to see that, to be honest. I don’t think there’s any intention of doing that either. As for his disappearance, I don’t know. Every time I try to choose what might happen in the future, I’m wrong, So I stopped speculating. I’m like, ‘You know what? I’ll leave that to the writers and save myself the embarrassment of being wrong, over and over and over again.'”
