Led by Randy Pitchford during Gearbox’s live stream for the Pax East event yesterday, it was Tales from the Borderlands 2 announced. This title will be a sequel to the successful game developed by Telltale and released in 2014, which used the Borderlands universe to tell a fun and adventurous story.
After the fall of Telltale (and its subsequent reappearance a few years ago), the original game disappeared from digital stores on all platforms, until a year ago, when Gearbox was able to take over its rights and remarket it.
This is what the remake of Resident Evil 4 could look like
The announcement came with the following words from Randy Pitchford: “A lot of you loved Tales from the Borderlands, right? As you know, some of the characters in [Tales] they came to Borderlands 3 and we love that format as a way to create characters and new stories and explore all of that in a way that’s different than what’s possible with a shoot-and-loot game. Because of the success and our love for Tales, and because of our interest in developing the Borderlands universe in new ways, we thought it would be fun and exciting to immerse ourselves once again in the format of interactive fiction«.
Announced Tales from the Borderlands 2, which will arrive this year
In this case, the title is not being developed by Telltale or any third-party company, but Gearbox itself has been in charge of working on it: «will premiere this year. It is published by 2K Games and developed internally by Gearbox Software.. It has completely new characters and stories set in the Borderlands universe. We have been working on this experience, in secret, for many years.”
