On August 20 it was released in theaters Annete, a film directed by Leos Carax and featuring Marion cotillard and Adam Driver as protagonists. It’s dark and disturbing and haunting and without a doubt, it is the excuse we needed to return to the cinemas this weekend.
The plot follows a successful marriage of a stand-up comedian and an opera singer, who are the perfect couple until their baby, Annette, is born, a strange baby who, according to the synopsis, brings a surprising gift. What started as a romantic love story It turns into a dark story that just with the trailer seems wonderful to us.
It premiered at the last Cannes Film Festival and is a fantastic drama for musical lovers. And is that Espinof experts already speak after the festival that this would be a cult title, and now we can enjoy it in movie theaters.
Adam Driver is the almost absolute protagonist and delights us with a heartbreaking and comprehensive performance that begins with the romance of two artists and that fluctuates until it becomes a dark story almost out of a book by Edgar Allan Poe. All washed down with doses of music (the Sparks give the film an opera-rock aura) and the style of the French director.
Marion Cotillard, with her bright colored looks is the very embodiment of sweetness and life, a delicate opera singer. For his part, Adam Driver, is pessimism and tragedy in an interpretation that according to the critics, it is beautiful.
A wonderful show that is already our plan for the weekend, because if there is love, music and a touch of suspense and darkness, it is a resounding yes.
