The official presentation of Android 12 occurred during the I / O 2021 held last May and now, the new update of the operating system makes its official arrival.
As expected for a few months, this Monday Google released the final and stable version of Android 12, a situation that has undoubtedly begun to generate speculation about how to access the most recent version of the operating system.
Although the expectation around this new version has been high, the reality is that this update will not yet be available for users of compatible devices until a few weeks from now.
And it is that although it is true that after a long time in its beta version we now have the final version of Android 12, it has only been published in AOSP (Android Open Source Project).
What’s new in Android 12
In an entrance in the Android developer site, Google assured that although Android 12 is technically available, it will not yet be available to the general public. This will happen in “next weeks.”
Despite this statement, Android 12 is one of the biggest updates to the operating system as it introduces a complete redesign to the interface through the lines of Material You.
So we talk about one of the biggest changes on an aesthetic level that will be accompanied by some functions that promise to improve the user experience.
For example, automatic themes are now introduced that allow you to customize the style of the operating system. Additionally, the widgets and animations have been redesigned in order to make them more fluid.
About privacy
The clear bet is to give more dynamism in the use of the operating system, where privacy also plays a leading role.
Among the improvements in this regard, the new privacy panel stands out, which gathers in one place a report on the use of information made by the applications installed in the last hours.
Similarly, “privacy indicators” were added, a function that allows you to quickly know if an app is using the microphone or the camera.
Finally, location permission has been improved to give users the option to choose whether to share their exact or approximate location.
It is expected that in the following weeks, this new operating system will reach more than 200 devices.
