There are high expectations and eagerness to try Android 11. However, it seems that Google’s mobile operating system, true to its tradition, will be much heavier than its predecessors.
In fact, a major leak has just emerged. Since if it turns out to be true then it would be impossible to install even the lightest version of this platform on many low-end smartphones. Since at least 2 GB of RAM would be required.
From XDA Developers a configuration guide for Android 11 Go Edition has been leaked, that basic variant and compressed with the minimum to live the Android experience. Designed for phones with very basic technical specifications.
These are, in theory, the guidelines that Google would impose on manufacturers to integrate this operating system. And there in the document, they mark that they would need at least 2 GB of RAM to run the controversial Google Mobile Services.
Which it involves
In fact, only Google Play would require more than 512 MB of RAM. We must remember that we are talking about Go Edition. This means that the full version of Android 11 would require a lot of memory and therefore too many low-end smartphones today would be left out.
Of old Android, Go asked for 1 GB of RAM, so Google would have imposed a very significant jump.
The document, due to its nature of being complicated to verify its authenticity and the wording itself, leaves many doubts about what is to come.
But if you are devoted to the low end, it is time to consider going up a bit.
