Since the creation of the Lucasfilm Games label and the termination of Electronic Arts’ exclusivity agreement with starwars, the galactic saga is announcing all kinds of projects framed in the world of video games. To Star Wars by Ubisoft Massive or Star Wars Eclipse by Quantic Dream now another new piece has to be added. And now we know that Amy Hennig is working on a new Star Wars game with his company Skydance New Media, founded in 2019, as he has announced the polygon portal. A Hennig who has already worked in the past on a Star Wars game at Visceral Games and that finally ended up being cancelled.
The director of this new Star Wars game has already been able to offer the first brushstrokes of an incipient project. It will be a very cinematic action-adventure game and that he will present a original story”. However, for now we do not have any details about that original storyline, nor do we have an official title, release date or planned platforms. “I have often described how watching Star Wars in 1977 rewired my brain at age twelve, shaping my creative life and future. I am thrilled to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love so much,” said Hennig.
Massive’s Star Wars open-world game could be coming to old-gen consoles
Amy Hennig is known for being the creator of the successful franchise Unchartedalthough he has had no luck so far after his departure from Naughty Dog, with the cancellation of the aforementioned project of Star Wars at Visceral Games, which ended with the study itself being closed. Now this Skydance New Media Star Wars joins Massive’s Star Wars, Quantic Dream’s Star Wars Eclipse, and also Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, which is in development at Electronic Arts’ Respawn Entertainment.
