The Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced this Monday that his Government seeks to acquire the rest of the shares of the Toluca International Airportcapital of the State of Mexico, the most populated in the country, to be managed by the Armed Forces.
An agreement is being reached with the Government of the State of Mexico. And, if there are possibilities, if we have the time and if we have the resources, the shares will be acquired so that the entire airport is public,” the president revealed in his morning conference.
The Mexican president recalled that the Spanish group OHL acquired 49% of the stake in the terminal, neighboring Mexico City, in 2006, but sold these shares in 2020.

López Obrador announced that the administration of the Toluca airfield will be in charge of the Secretary of the Navyas already happens with the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
The Government of Mexico hopes that the flow at the Toluca Airport will improve to improve connectivity in the Mexican capital together with the AICM and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), a priority work of López Obrador.
