Alpine will carry out a major product offensive in the coming years that will allow it to consolidate its position in Europe. Before starting its global expansion, the French brand will focus on improving its sales on the European territory. At present, its range consists of a single model, the A110.
The Alpine brand
has set in motion all the machinery to carry out a large and ambitious product offensive in a short space of time. Backed by the entire Groupe Renault infrastructure and resources, the iconic French firm is ready to enter a new era. An era that, in Europe, will be marked by electrification, and more specifically by electric mobility.
The new Alpine’s strategic plan sets a global expansion. The sports car brand is determined to become a relevant player in its elite market in the main markets of the world. But, before this can take place, it is crucial to close all the fronts that are open in the Old Continent.
Alpine wants to expand its global presence
Laurent Rossi, CEO of Alpine, has made some very interesting statements that highlight the challenges that the company must face before it can focus exclusively on its global expansion. Rossi was very clear, stressing that the brand must first be consolidated in Europe before we can look further.
But, What markets will be a priority once Alpine can expand away from Europe? Rossi hinted at some clues. The top leader of the brand does not rule out an eventual presence in Asia and America. However, he stressed that it is not something that is currently being analyzed. Which again shows that it is a long-term plan.
Rossi also commented that increasing Alpine’s sales in Europe is an immediate priority. Throughout the first half of 2021, Alpine registrations reached 1,200 units. Most of the sales were concentrated in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The United States is a market of the future for Alpine
The presence of Alpine in Formula 1 is one of the strengths that the French manufacturer keeps to be able to promote the brand in new markets where this sport has a great hobby. The United States is a good example. We must remember that Renault is not present in the United States. However, it does play a leading role in Latin America.
«The United States is 50% of the sports car market. The Renault Group is not in the United States for good reasons. He left this market twice. We need to make sure that if we go back, it is successful. We will probably err on the side of caution, but you cannot fail a third time. The Alpine brand is being reborn, so we have a lot to accomplish first, to establish it as a solid, graduated brand in Europe, “said Rossi.
On the other hand, and in parallel, we must not forget that the Alpine range consists of a single model, the Alpine A110. Increasing its product offering is crucial to improve the brand’s position both in Europe and to face future global expansion. Short term Alpine to launch three new electric cars, among which there will be a crossover.
