The iconic Alpine brand has officially announced the location where one of the three electric cars it will launch on the market in the coming years will be manufactured. The so-called “X-Over GT” will be produced in European territory. A model that is called to play a leading role in the product offensive that the French company will carry out.
Alpine is ready to start an ambitious process of internal revolution. The iconic French brand will bet without complexes on electrification. What is more, the final objective of the strategic plan promoted by the Renault Group itself involves make Alpine a 100% electric brand. A goal established in the short term and that will be possible thanks to the realization of a product offensive.
About a year ago Alpine announced the launch of its first electric cars. Specifically, the brand indicated the arrival of three totally new models. Now, some time after that presentation, it has been confirmed where one of these new models that is on the agenda and that we will see on the market soon will be manufactured.
Alpine will manufacture its new electric car in France
Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, together with Laurent Rossi, CEO of Alpine, have officially announced that the Alpine’s new electric car will be made in France. More specifically, in localized facilities in Dieppe. This new model is known as “X-Over GT”. It is one of the three electric confirmed by the French brand. The other two will be a compact and a replacement for the current A110, the only model that is part of the Alpine range.
These three models will see the light between now and the year 2026. Behind the name X Over GT there is an electric SUV. A model supported by CMF-EV platform. The Dieppe factory will be appropriately adapted to be able to manufacture electric vehicles that make use of said architecture. Also, it will become first 100% electric car made in Normandy.
Alpine’s vehicle production center in Dieppe has been renamed Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rébdélé in tribute to the brand’s founder. The A110 is currently manufactured at these facilities.
X-Over GT, Alpine’s electric SUV
The advances published by the brand itself suggest that the X-Over GT will be a coupe-type SUV that will have a distinctive light signature. However, those responsible for Alpine assure that it will be a Gran Turismo. Hence the acronym GT of the name used to refer to this future release.
