In chapter 356 of My Hero Academia, manga creator Kohei Horikoshi could have turned a well-known cliché into reality, but he preferred to put a more interesting spin on it and extend All For One’s combat against the group of heroes. This article will contain spoilers for the latest chapter.one of the most impressive so far, if you want to read it on your own, it’s available on MangaPlus by Shueisha.
On this occasion, we see how Kohei Horikoshi gives the student of class 1-A, Fumikage Tokoyami, the perfect opportunity to defeat All For One. After the number two hero, Hawks, “missed” his ultimate attack against the villain, Fumikage Tokoyami rushes in and unleashes his Abyss Black Ephemeral ultimate attack. As readers wait to see the effects of Fumikage’s assault, they are taken into the mind of All For One as he explains how his senses have been clouded because so many of his quirks have rebelled against him, possibly foreshadowing All For One’s inevitable defeat. All For One.
But, it can’t all be that easy with the most powerful villain humanity has ever faced in My Hero Academia 356. He quickly regains control, and readers see that the Fumikage’s Abyss Black Ephemeral had little to no effect on All For One to the point where the villain is about to or has already successfully countered another attack from Hawks. Breaking with this the cliché of action manga where based on effort and the power of friendship, everything can be achieved.
Also, if we see in detail the scale of power that the series has raised, a victory for Fumikage over a villain that not even All Might could not defeat would not make sense. In fact, there are some instances in the manga where the heroes only achieve victory despite being severely handicapped. It wouldn’t have been a surprise because this is a familiar trope in shonen.
Fortunately, Kohei Horikoshi decided to put a more interesting spin on it in My Hero Academia 356, instead of Fumikage having won with the help of rogue quirks (which would have been expected), especially since his classmate Kyoka Jiro, or Earphone Jack, was able to stun All For One in the previous chapter, decided that it was not yet time to defeat the villain.
Though it would have been intriguing if Fumikage successfully took down All For One with the help of All For One’s rogue quirks, it’s still refreshing that neither he, nor Kyoka, nor any other UA freshman is best for that matter taking down these veteran villains on their own. As long as something like weak heroes beating powerful villains doesn’t happen in My Hero Academia, everything should be fine.
Deku has reached or surpassed the power of All Might in My Hero Academia
Of course, this allows Kohei Horikoshi to give Endeavor his moment to shine.since now he has given space to his growth as a character, because after the blow he received from All For One in the previous chapter of My Hero Academia he has had a process of introspection with his conscience that reveals his true emotions: He recognizes that he’ll never be as strong as Deku or All Might (who couldn’t stop All For One either), but that’s not a reason to give up.
Endeavor has made a decision: he is going to face All For One with all his power, even risking his life. This could have serious consequences and, in fact, the final pages do not reveal whether or not he was successful in his final attack.
In the last pages of My Hero Academia chapter 356, we see how Endeavor is willing to face All For One with his most powerful attack, proving why he is Japan’s number 1 hero. Although we still don’t know if he managed to defeat him or at least give him a scratch or not, we can’t deny that this hero is willing to sacrifice his life to defeat this powerful villain.
