Sony Pictures announced the people who lent their voices to the Latin American dubbing of the highly anticipated animated film “Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse”, and generated some controversy.
The controversy was due to the fact that the cast was made up of “star-talents”, that is, famous people who are not professionally engaged in the world of dubbing.
In fact, several well-known dubbing actors have also complained about it, because lately the industry has given more importance to fame and the number of followers than to the talent and career of many professionals.

For Alex Montiel, criticism of his work is not new, so he is used to it: “The criticism of my experience remains the same, no matter how many years of your career you have, no matter how many preparations you have, no matter what you sing and express. publicly”.
In addition, he added that he had fun doing the dubbing of Medieval Vulture in “Spider-Man: Through the Spiderverse”, and he is eager for them to hear the work he did.
For his part, Javier Ibarreche expressed that he partly understood the anger of some dubbing professionals, however, he asked that they wait to see the work they did before judging it.
He also stressed that this represented a great opportunity for more people to enter the world of dubbing, something extremely difficult to achieve, and recalled that Eugenio Derbez, someone famous who had never done dubbing before, ended up stealing the show with his work in the Shrek franchise, voicing Donkey.
