(Yes, India is the most populous country in the world, surpassing China in 2023, with 1.428 million people, according to UN estimates. But that’s another matter.)
The Daam virus is a malware discovered in 2021 that can affect any Android smartphone. Worst of all is not its scope, which is enormous, but rather that cybersecurity agencies are unaware of its origin.
What can Daam Trojan virus do to your smartphone?
As Wired explains, Daam is a botnet that infects third-party apps. “It could be hidden in any app of dubious origin,” says the specialized portal.

- and data encryption without the consent of the user.
“Daam uses all infected devices as his own army for private purposes.” Wired indicates, “such as increasing the traffic of some internet page, saturating a virtual service as an attack or downloading an app that injects advertising into the phone”.
