The movie of Flash It was never an easy task for Warner Bros., first because its place within the DCEU was unclear and eventually because of all the controversies surrounding Ezra Miller and his legal problems.
The company was promoting the release for months, assuring that it was the best superhero movie in recent years in a desperate attempt to attract the masses to movie theaters and the result, not only because of what was mentioned above but also because of the criticism that followed, was quite mediocre for all that was expected and the expectations that were placed on the proposal. However, Warner has decided to turn the matter around and now the tape will be sold as NFT in a new litmus test to see how much money this format makes.
Warner Bros. Discovery, in its attempt to recoup the expense of The Flash’s box office flop, announced that it will be selling the film as an NFT and the purchase will bring with it an exclusive virtual experience:
“It’s official, The Flash is the first new release movie to hit blockchain!” they tweeted.
According to IGN, This version of the film will be in 4K and will allow the viewer to enjoy an immersive experience in which they will be able to access five digital locations that contain augmented reality, including Barry’s room and the Batplane. It will also include exclusive behind-the-scenes collectibles and art from the movie that is considered rare and special, which in theory should increase its value. The ribbon will also award a voucher to get a bundle from the DC NFT Marketplace.
The Flash isn’t the first movie Warner Bros. has released as an NFTWell, he already did the same with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and Superman: The Movie, although it is the first time that he has focused on a recent release.
