Although Thanos, in the Cinematic Universe of Marvel, always associated with destruction and death, deadHYPE, a German design collective insisted on giving it a more “friendly” face. Thus, the sneakers that they launched in 2020 in conjunction with Adidas, were called Adidas deadHYPE x ZX 8000 A-ZX Series – Thanos.
Actually, the only allusion to the Marvel villain is the color purple. That is to say, there are no other direct elements (the Casa de las Ideas logo or the infinity gems, for example), but the color.
But the particularity of the model is that it has both a dark purple (violet) and a light purple (lavender), that inspires delicacy, beyond the name being that of the Mad Titan.
The upper is made of textile and leather, secured with laces and reinforced with a TPU heel counter.
As another thing to highlight about these shoes, the design eliminates the branding of the tongue and it replaces the distinctive Adidas three stripes with a single layer of solid leather.
Another standout is the range of co-branded accents, including neon green logos on the sockliner and deadHYPE touches on the sidewall.
