It was formed when Jonathan Davis was leading a local band called Sexart at the time, while working as a coroner’s assistant in Bakersfield, California. LAPD was the group that included James “Munky” Shaffer, David Silveria, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu and Brian “Head” Welch.
In 1993, Davis joined the LAPD and the band changed its name to Korn. In 1994, they released their debut album, titled Korn. The album was a commercial and critical success, and helped popularize the nu metal genre.
Since then, he has released 14 studio albums, 6 compilation albums, 2 live albums, 11 EPs and 40 singles. He sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. and was nominated for 13 Grammy Awards.
