A recent scientific study has declared bees as the most important living being in the world. Despite recognition, this insect is in danger of extinction.
It was the Earthwatch Institute, an international environmental charity, which declared in the Royal Geographical Society that bees are very important to the global ecosystem because of their pollinating function. Dr. McGavin warned: ” The critical symbiosis among insects, especially bees and flowering plants has created a rich diversity of life on Earth.”
And he adds: “Bees are essential for our survival, without the bees of the world, we would have to change our eating habits dramatically, we would have to live without flowers, without fruits or without vegetables.”
But why were these insects chosen as the most important living being on the planet? According to experts, 70% of world agriculture depends exclusively on bees. In fact, pollination (performed by bees) is essential for plants to reproduce.
Information that worries the experts and the public in general. And it is that recent studies show that about 90% of bees have disappeared in recent times due to excessive use of pesticides, deforestation, and lack of flora.
It is worth mentioning that a study prepared by the Apiculture Entrepreneurship Center of the Universidad Mayor (CeapiMayor) and the Apiculture Corporation of Chile (Cach), with the support of the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation (FIA), determined that it is the only living being that It does not carry any type of pathogens.
Not only that. These insects would be fundamental for humanity. Albert Einstein declared on more than one occasion the following: “Man would only have four years to live. Without bees, there is no pollination, no grass, no animals, no men.”
