On many occasions, our minds play the terrible game of comparison. That is, we compare our life with others and this is a mistake because acceptance is one of the main steps to achieve excellent personal growth. If you want to accept yourself and your reality, then we are going to give you some keys to achieve it.
Why is it difficult for us to accept the reality we live in?
This is a problem that arises, fundamentally, from the lack of acceptance, magnified by the inconsistent comparison. That is, it arises because the person does not accept or does not like something about himself and, when comparing himself with someone or something, he feels inferior or that he lacks something. This conflict causes pain since the person judges himself cruelly and falls into the trap of the story that is told of his life.
What is clear is that each person has a story and every human being has experienced difficult times. Many people do not carry out the acceptance and deny their history as if they want to forget or hide a part of it, in order to appear perfect.
Although hiding certain aspects of your life, it means that you forget important lessons or valuable experiences that have helped you grow, that have made you more human and that connect you with your interior.
Therefore, it can be said that assuming their history is a necessary process of acceptance and integration. Assuming their history means loving each other despite the mistakes and healing the possible wounds of the past.
Acceptance supposes the value of being authentic
Today’s society labels and compares. This generates a distorted view of oneself for the person, which often makes them feel defective. So a key tip in the acceptance process is to stop being so self-demanding, pretend to be different and accept yourself and your story, since anxiety disappears when the person accepts himself.
It can be said that accepting is having the courage to be authentic, giving yourself permission to be yourself and honor your truth and your story, in addition to respecting and loving yourself. Accepting does not mean abandoning oneself, but quite the opposite: taking a step forward to change, to be able to free oneself from the chains of the past.
Acceptance is the most authentic way of living there is and it means having the courage to accept your story and proudly tell it, just as it is. This means the truth about yourself, where you come from, what you have lived and been through and, even so, continue to dream of what you can become and what you want to become.
