The scorpion brand has pulled another new special edition of the Abarth 695 out of its sleeve. The Italian firm pays homage to one of the brand’s sports icons, the Abarth 131 Rally, imprinting on the utility vehicle a special aesthetic and a motor configuration and performance worthy of the highest competition.
While Abarth faces total electrification, the scorpion firm shakes up with a new special edition, paying homage to one of the sportiest and most radical models in its history. The Abarth 131 Rally manufactured between 1976 and 1982 winner of three editions of group 4 of the World Rally Championship almost consecutively, achieving the manufacturers’ titles in 1977, 1978 and 1980.
Now what do I know? celebrates the 40th anniversarythe Italian brand has taken the opportunity to dress the Abarth 500 with a special suit that, of course, has a replica inside and promising its owners an experience on board with all the sentimental load of the honored model. The Abarth 695 Tribute 131 Rally It is presented with a striking, and unique body color, “Rally Blue” that contrasts with the pillars of the windshield, roof, wheel arches -occupied by 17-inch alloy wheels– and exterior mirror masts painted in “Scorpion Black”, both with a gloss finish.

Inside, Abarth has printed a special sportiness, reproducing the same body color in some thin stripes that run longitudinally along the bench seat and backrest of the leather-upholstered sports seats and in Sabelt fabric, and contrasting stitching in blue. The pedals are in polished aluminium, while the steering wheel rim is lined in leather and Alcantara, the latter material also present in the dome of the instrument panel. In addition, the most exclusive touch is put carbon fiber steering wheel spokes in sight or the silhouette of the honoree on the thresholds of the doors.
But, without a doubt, there are a couple of details that we have saved for last and that make this Abarth more special: one, the unprecedented arrangement of the four exhausts, thin tubes arranged vertically at the ends of the rear equipped with the «Record Monza» system. The second is the spoiler that crowns the tailgate and that has an adjustment in 12 positions and up to a maximum of 60º, which allows the downforce to be increased by up to 42 kilograms at 200 km/h.
The Italian brand has announced that only 695 units will be produced, equipped with the well-known and powerful engine 1.4 T-Jet that yields a maximum power of 180 CV, with more than outstanding features detailed below. The limited edition has a system of Koni FSD shocks and Brembo brakes. For now, we only know the price for the United Kingdom, although we also expect the prices for Spain in the coming weeks, as it has been confirmed that it will be marketed worldwide.
