Windows 11 has just turned a year since the start of its distribution, butu adoption rate approaches 3 percentbeing the immediately previous version, Windows 10, the one that gains in popularity.

In order to update a computer to Windows 11, it must have some minimum requirements that guarantee its operation, such as a 64-bit processor with at least 1GHz or two or more cores, as well such as a RAM of at least 4GB and internal capacity of 64GB or moreamong other features.

Although it is possible to manually install Windows 11 on computers that do not meet the minimum specifications required by Microsoft, these computers may have problems with subsequent updates.

Lansweeper, an IT asset management platform provider, estimates that only 57.26 percent of workstations are eligible for automatic upgrade for meeting CPU requirementsa percentage that becomes higher if we look at those of RAM memory (92.85%).

In the case of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) only the 64.57 percent meet the specifications, according to data from this companyfrom 30 million Windows PCs in 60,000 organizations.

On the other hand, Windows 11 began to be distributed on October 5, 2021, and a year later, se estimated to have an adoption rate of 2.61 percent1.17 percent more than in April, compared to 81.87 percent penetration presented by Windows 10, and still below that of Windows 7 (3.38%).

For customers who have a PC that will not be upgraded, microsoft will provide support to Windows 10 until October 14, 2025.
