Artificial Intelligence continues to expand worldwide, and more and more companies are making use of it. SK Telecom (SKT), the main mobile operator in South Korea, added ChatGPT type technology as its chatbot, to become “user friend”.
The announcement was made this Friday, and the function will be available in the Android and iOS devices at the end of July.
The feature is powered by Microsoft’s cloud, Azure, reinforcing the beta version of A. (pronounced A point), to which the Chat T feature was added.
“With the massive revision of A., we hope that more customers feel comfortable and enjoy using our conversational AI.” said Kim Yong-hun, vice president and head of the AI services business office.
“We will continue turning A. into a service that can help customers in their daily life in many ways,” added the SKT executive.
ChatGPT Artificial Intelligence for SKT can assume any personality
Clients can request responses from the chatbot, just as they would with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. A peculiarity is that the technology is capable of assuming any personality, to make the interaction with the user more fluid.
“Through these conversations, users can share information about their daily life as if they were talking to a close friend.” SKT said in a statement.
“By engaging in conversations with A., users can receive advice on a wide variety of topics. stressed.
SKT also updated its own Large Language Model (LLM) to allow users to participate in a multi-turn dialog. The model can understand the context of a conversation and grasp complex intentions, thus creating a more logical and useful conversation.
Although SKT’s base is in telecommunications, the company has branched out into more areas. According to CNBC, by 2025 it will launch a flying taxi service, while its AI chip-making subsidiary, Sapeon, is also growing.
