Both sagas have been compared on several occasions.
Elden Ring is possibly the biggest release in years, even though From Software’s title is a firm candidate to win the 2022 GOTYthus giving rise to its challenging difficulty and its open and organic world have managed to dazzle millions in the world.
However, despite the enormous success, it must be said that dark souls shadow is elongatedleading this to the fact that many users have compared both sagas, to the point that many unofficially call it Dark Souls 4 (or 5 if we take into account Demon’s Souls).
Elden Ring has a parry different from Dark Souls
Faced with this idea, a player has taken it upon himself to show the differences between Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, the latter being the closing of the trilogy that took From Software to the top. And for this, he has used the parry system that both games boast.
Right here the Reddit user known as YoruTsubasa has shared a video on this social network showing the differences in the parry of the mentioned titles, in a way the timing and range of the attack will not be the same:
As you can see in the video, where this player faces two different bosses from Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, you can see how in this last title the parry takes longer to connect than expected. On the contrary, in Elden Ring it is necessary be much faster to stop the blows.
On the other hand, in terms of scope, in the case of Elden Ring it is necessary that the player needs to be closer to the boss to be able to execute the parry without problems, in the same way that in Dark Souls 3 there is a little more margin. That is why you can see how, despite the similarities, there are differences between both sagas.
For the rest, being a real bestseller and critic since its launch, it should be noted that Elden Ring is available from February 25 this year, with versions for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
