Despite the fact that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released in 2015, the truth is that the latest title in the saga directed by Hideo Kojima has not ceased to be talked about. Among other reasons, it is due to the mythical nuclear disarmament scene after finishing all the nukes in online mode.
A fact really difficult to get legitimately. Kojima and his team dreamed that, at some point, all players on a platform would give up their war potential. In this way, a scene of peace would appear on the screen and show how the nuclear arsenal counter reached zero.
This cinematic was discovered thanks to a dataminer and two years ago a group of players achieved the goal of seeing it after achieving a total disarmament on the PS3 servers. Nevertheless, was not achieved with a method that satisfies Konami. The channel Did You Know Gaming? has done some research to explain what exactly happened:
The Anti-Nuke Gang was the community that got down to work so that the number of nuclear weapons in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was zero. The Hung Horse, leader of the players, began this task in 2020, after losing his job due to the pandemic and quickly managed to rally more users to his cause.
However, the difficulties were great. PS3 players could generate 16 nukes by cheating in a very short time and this led to another problem. Konami banned accounts for different reasons, which caused a bug where 40 nukes continued to count in the gamealthough they no longer belonged to any user.
Faced with such a problem, from The Anti-Nuke Gang they were forced to resort to a hacker, who built a code that managed to disarm nuclear material without playing the title. Although all nuclear weapons were eliminated by this method, Konami was not convinced by the system, so it expelled the hacker and declared the way to achieve peace in the game as illegitimate.
In spite of everything, the Japanese company has not remedied this particular situation that prevents the cinematic from being seen through legal channels. He hasn’t even responded to community requests, so it seems that it will not be possible to see one day, without cheating or cardboard, world peace in the work. Finally, on May 31 the PS3 and Xbox 360 servers will say goodbye permanently.
