In 2019, Between knives and secrets (Knives Out) It became a surprise at the worldwide box office. The ensemble directed by Rian Johnson and starring a great cast grossed more than $300 million worldwide. It even got an Oscar nomination in the Best Original Screenplay category. With that background, Knives Out 2 was imminent, but it won’t hit theaters, it will hit Netflix. Fortunately, after years of waiting, it finally arrives glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
This is all you need to know:
What will the movie be about?
Unlike the first installment, the murderer is not among the members of a family, but among the closest friends of the victim. When tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) invites some of his nearest and dearest to spend a few days on his private island in Greece, it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. And when someone dies… well, who better than Blanc to decipher the intrigue?
Knowing the talent of Rian Johnson, director and writer of the film, we will definitely see something different from the first part.
“The mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats. Remember, first and foremost, you’re making a movie and it has to work dramatically before you can make it intellectually like a puzzle,” says Johnson (via). “Actually, that’s still the hard part. Create a good story that feels unique and exciting, and is emotionally satisfying in the end.”
Even Craig himself went out of his way to praise the filmmaker’s work (via):
“We finished the second film in Serbia. Dare I say which is better? We’ll see. I don’t want to defy fate. It’s different, and that’s amazing. It’s still a Benoit Blanc mystery, but it’s very different. I am very excited about that.”

What does the title of the sequel mean? Knives Out?
According to Johnson, the film’s title refers to Blanc’s bombastic tastes. In addition, it is a tribute to the homonymous song of the Beatleswhich was released in 1968 (via):
“I’m always looking for something fun that will serve as an over-the-top metaphor for Blanc that he can use to death. Everything is visible from the beginning. So I came up with the idea of glass, something transparent. I’ll be very honest: I literally took out my iPhone and did a search for the word ‘glass’ in my music. Surely there will be some good song with ‘glass’. And I thought, “Oh, is this a glass fortress? A glass castle? A glass man? The first thing that came out, because I’m a huge fan of the Beatles, was ‘Glass Onion’”.
