One of the Aston Martin DB5s used during the filming of Goldfinger and which was stolen 25 years ago, reappears in a collection.
Talk about Aston martin evokes, almost inevitably, to think of the iconic agent 007. The idyll of the movies James bond with the British luxury car company it has been a fact for decades.
It was in the third James Bond movie, Goldfinger, when this love story started, with Sean Connery riding for the first time in a modified DS5 with so many gadgets that it was scary.
Even though the creator of James Bond, Ian Fleming, imagined the character at the wheel of a Aston Martin DB Mark III, it was John stears, the special effects expert, who would convince Aston Martin to allow them to use a prototype of the DB5 for the film.
Love at first sight, hey. As we mentioned above, it is difficult to imagine James Bond without a scene coming to mind at the wheel of one of these fantastic cars.
But what are we going to do? Like many other items used on sets, the Aston Martin DB5s used on the set of James Bond are top-notch collectors’ items. In 1986, one of the original Aston Martin DB5s was auctioned for $ 275,000, auction that the real estate mogul won Anthony Pugliese.
But in 1997, the vehicle was stolen from the mogul’s hangar at the Boca Raton airport in Florida. The car was insured for $ 4.2 million.
Now, almost 25 years after the theft, the Aston Martin DB5 has made a comeback again. As reported The Telegraph, the VIN of an Aston Martin DB5 found in a collection in the Middle East matches that of the vehicle stolen almost a quarter of a century ago.
The experts value this vehicle at approximately $ 25 million. The other original Aston Martin DB5 from the James Bond filming (of the 4 that were used) it was auctioned in 2010 for 4.6 million dollars, a whole world compared to what this is valued.
