CoryGardner, who was a United States Senator from Colorado from 2015 to 2021, has joined the Crypto Council for Innovation, a cryptocurrency advocacy group whose goal is to establish dialogues with governments and regulatory agencies about the benefits of digital assets.
In an announcement Thursday, the Crypto Council for Innovation, or CCI, said that Gardner was one of three new members joining the group’s leadership team. Under the leadership of Sheila Warren, the former senator will work alongside Amanda Russo, communications adviser to the World Economic Forum, and Annie Dizon, former executive of the social impact organization TechSoup. What’s more, Katherine Wu, partner of Archetype, will become the first researcher of the JRC, while Sean Lee, former CEO of the Algorand Foundation, joined the group to help build its presence in Asia-Pacific.
Gardner, a former US Senator and former member of the House of Representatives, will serve as ITC’s new Chief Political Strategist. Speaking to Cointelegraph, Warren said Gardner’s addition was based on his experience in Washington “to build a stronger economy and support innovation” as well as his commitment to Web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies.
“The combined leadership and global experience of our new team members will fortify CCI’s expertise at a pivotal time, both within our organization and in the cryptocurrency industry worldwide,” Warren said. “This expanded team will strengthen CCI’s presence on the West Coast, as well as in Washington, DC, and adds a critical presence in APAC, supporting the advancement of our priorities to drive the evolution of the crypto ecosystem and support the global policy community.” .
