Since its announcement in the past D23, werewolf at night raised a lot of expectations. Many were in awe of the aesthetic and theme of the Marvel special, while others seemed to not get the style. A few days after its launch on Disney Plus, some lucky people could already see the first project of Michael Giacchino (music composer of Batman Y Spider-Man: No Way Home) as director. What do the first reactions of werewolf at night?
Steve Weintraub and Perri Nemiroffcritics of Colliderconsidered it a unique experience:
“I loved #werewolfbynight. Michael Giacchino knocked it out of the park with his directorial debut for Marvel Studios. I hope he directs again soon. Surprised at how much he managed to pull off and I’m happy it’s not like anything Marvel has done before.”
“#WerewolfByNight is the MCU Halloween treat I’ve been waiting for. A charming ode to classic monster movies with Marvel-level stunt work, production design and effects. I loved the dynamic between the characters of Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnely”.
For its part, the insider Grace Randolph gave it a more mixed review and offered a comparison many Marvel fans took aback: “The first third is BRILLIANT and fresh and new. The rest? Dumb as #ThorLoveAndThunder,” she wrote.
Eric Italianfrom the podcast Credit Pod it also gave a less positive review than the initial ones. And if we reach a consensus, it seems that a story with personality truly awaits us.
“#WerewolfByNight is the most peculiar project since GDLG (Guardians of the Galaxy). It’s so good? No. But it’s a remarkable breath of fresh air to see Marvel attempt something like this, as its tone and style are VERY close to the trailer. More like this please. Comics are weird. Let’s be weird.”
Being a horror special, many expect a darker tone and a higher degree of violence than previous MCU projects. If we take some of the reactions as a basis, we could well be facing one of the darkest content in the entire MCU.
Rohan Patelof Comic Book, talked about the special’s strongest points (via):
“#WerewolfByNight is delightfully twisted and a fantastic tribute to classic monster movies. Michael Giaccino did it! Super violent, with a morbid sense of humor and a lot of heart. Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly are welcome additions to the MCU. Man-Thing steals the show.”
What do you think? The first reactions werewolf at night They convince you to see the special? Its premiere will be next October 7 via Disney Plus.
John Joseph Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the cinema up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movies.
