It is clear that this season the color is carried in the interiors. Today, we have set our deco radar on the Comprehensive reform project of a duplex with a terrace signed by the studio Raquel González Interior Design.
The duplex has 130 m2, and is located on the ground floor of a residential building on the outskirts of Madrid. The homeowners wanted make the most of space to make it more comfortable, bright and with more storage.
To achieve this goal, from the interior design studio they opted to take advantage of every last millimeter, taking out for example a bathroom and storage in the space under the stairs. “Through the design of more storage and various hidden utilities, a spacious and visually tidy home has been obtained”, explained the interior designer. In addition, the microcement has allowed the home to be given a great personality, giving it an industrial and sober style.
To give the house a contemporary air, Raquel González has chosen a selection of furniture that is naturally integrated, creating a contemporary interior design where light tones contrast with pink, protagonist in several stays. As far as the lighting project is concerned, the interior designer has chosen to integrate it in a very discreet way by looking for the light, and not the lamp, except in the dining room.
common areas
On the ground floor is the day area. This area was designed in an open way, so that all the spaces communicate with each other to gain visual amplitude. The common space is divided between a kitchen area, living room, and a toilet.
Microcement flooring has been installed throughout the ground floor
to visually unify the plant and to bring an industrial touch to the
living place. This space has been conceived from the light, since it was a very important aspect in the project, combining the always bright white with the pink present in several key pieces.
The room stands out for the straight lines, for visual cleanliness and for the combination of exclusive pieces and color contrast. The steam fireplace in the living room is custom designed by the interior designer, integrated into the furniture custom designed by the studio.
In the dining room, the interior design studio has opted for a combination of robust furniture with gray upholstery and the Wireflow model has been chosen as the pendant lamp, inspired by the aesthetics of chandeliers, which timidly appears to create a somewhat futuristic graphic transparency effect. The kitchen room, in black and white, is a custom design by Raquel González. In this space, a mirror-coated Pando hood stands out.
The terrace, also with pink tones
The day area extends with an outdoor space divided into two zones. One of them has been glazed to be able to take advantage of it throughout the year, installing an outdoor lounge. The other area is completely outside, to enjoy the fresh air.
The staircase, the centerpiece of the house
The staircase, in addition to its functional part to communicate the two floors of the duplex, takes on a new role in the house. Produced in microcement with a glass closure, the guest toilet is hidden under the stairs, as well as a storage area.
en-suite bedroom
The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. For the bed, the interior design studio chose a brown model combined with brightly colored textiles. To liven up the room, a floral wallpaper which has become the main protagonist of the bedroom. In it suite bathroom a microcement wall cladding has been used, in combination with the wooden floor.
