Actiu launches Fluit, a 100% sustainable chair, which uses both fully recycled polypropylene plastic as fiberglass. Fluit is the first collaboration between the brand and the Italian studio Archirivolto Design. A concept of circular and sustainable economy that stands out for its fluidity and sensitivity materialized in a slim and robust piece capable of adapting to different environments company Y hospitality.
80% of the material used in the production of Fluit is post consumer recycled plastic certificate from the agri-food sector. Fiberglass accounts for the remaining 20% of the material and is also recycled. To create this chair, Actiu resorts to gas injection, an innovative industrial process that reinforces resistance and provides a delicate and soft touch finish. In addition, following Actiu’s philosophy, Fluit’s production process is based on Km 0.
The chair represents transversal solutionwhich is presented with and without arms in response to different needs, also allowing the incorporation of a padded cushion to provide greater comfort and to which is added a wide range of trendy color combinations: mustard, white, black, gray and green.
In its manufacture, polypropylene is enriched with fiberglass to strengthen resistance of a chair that can be stacked up to six chair units and be used in indoor environments and also on outdoor covered terraces, for its aesthetics and quality of ultraviolet protection.
From Archirivolto Design they explain that Fluit is inspired by a 16th century Dutch sailing ship named Fluyt. The dimensions of her were those of the warships of the time, so she was a robust sailboat and larger than merchant ships. Fluit is thus born from the sea, a Mediterranean sea that is part of our Italian, Spanish and European culture. And she is conceived as a transversal piece, capable of blending into all environments: hospitality, work and training.
Fluit represents a further step in Actiu’s sustainability strategy, which was the first Spanish manufacturer to market chipboard with 0% formaldehyde melamine coatings as standard. In fact, the use of sustainable, recycled and recyclable materials It is one of the hallmarks of the company that thus manages to reduce the carbon footprint of the life cycle of each of its products and something that each and every one of us should commit to.
