The Giant Freaking Robot site reports that Warner Bros. and DC Comics would be working on a solo series starring Margot Robbie, which would reach digital platforms.
What was not specified is whether this series will be a spin-off of The Suicide Squad, similar to the Peacemaker series that will premiere in January 2022 on HBO Max, or this project joins the Black Canary and Huntress films that will arrive. to Warner Bros. digital platforms.
This Harley Quinn series would be connected to the DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU), which began in 2013 with Man of Steel, and which includes Suicide Squad from 2016, Birds of Prey from 2019 and the most recent installment of The Suicide Squad.
Is Harley Quinn back in action soon?
As SMASH reported to you at the time, Margot Robbie clarified that contrary to what some press reports pointed out, the Australian does not plan to let Harley Quinn ‘rest’ for a long time.
“I’ve had enough rest. I’m ready to play it again… I did Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad back-to-back, so that was a lot of Harley in a one-year period, but that was a while ago. I’m always ready for more Harley!”.
One possibility that is handled within Warner Bros. is the realization of Gotham City Sirens, the title that joins Harley Quinn with Poison Ivy and Catwoman, in a project that could involve director James Gunn.
Interviewed exclusively by SMASH, filmmaker James Gunn accepted that Gotham City Sirens is a project that many people would be interested in, but it is not something that he does, at least in the medium term.
“It’s weird, that’s a project a lot of people are focused on, I guess because it’s (a) Harley movie, but it’s not something on my radar right now.”.
