The rumored Galaxy Buds 2 are official. Samsung has presented this Wednesday, along with its new smartwatch and folding smartphones, its new headphones True Wireless. These are devices that inherit some characteristics of the Galaxy Buds Pro, such as the oval design and active noise cancellation, but they are a notch below these and come with a lower price.
The Galaxy Buds 2, like Apple’s headphones, arrive in a totally wireless format with a charging case that serves to transport and charge them when not in use. In addition, according to the company, later they will arrive third party covers to protect and personalize the box.
Galaxy Buds 2 count with two internal speakers and three microphones on each earbud: two external, one internal and one VPU (Voice Pickup Unit). These characteristics give rise to Ambient Sound, a system that filters out external noises and lets only what is important, such as, for example, a person’s voice during a daily conversation on the street.
Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 2 come with a sound signed by AKG and with active noise cancellation (ANC) at different configurable levels. According to Samsung, this system is capable of eliminating background noise up to 98% thanks to its algorithms and the three built-in microphones.
Galaxy Buds 2, an attractive proposal
The Galaxy Buds 2 can be used for up to 7.5 hours on a single charge. The case, which has a built-in battery, allows you to extend its use up to 29 hours in standard playback and around 20 hours with active noise cancellation. It also has a wireless charging coil, so, in addition to charging with cable, you can do it wirelessly or with a compatible smartphone. PowerShare.
While the Galaxy Buds 2 are primarily intended to work with the Galaxy ecosystem, it is also possible to use them with devices from other manufacturers. This ranges from wearables to smartphones, including from Apple. In all cases, pairing is done through Bluetooth 5.2, a standard that improves sound quality and energy efficiency.
Galaxy Buds 2 also count automatic switching between devices, which allows, for example, if you are listening to music on the computer, quickly switch to the mobile in case a call is received. It also has improved touch controls thanks to Samsung’s AI, water and sweat resistance thanks to the IPX2 standard. And, as if that were not enough, now the mobile application also helps to choose the most successful pad.
How much will they cost?
The Galaxy Buds 2 will be offered in four colors: purple, black, olive green and white. In all cases, the outside of the box will be white, but both the inside and the color of the headphones will change. They will be available from August 27th in traditional channels by 149 euros.
