The friendship between Windows 10 and Android has just leveled up again. The latest news is that now we can synchronize the Windows 10 clipboard with our Android devices thanks to Swiftkey. And well, although it has not been officially released, it still works the same with Windows 11.
For years, Microsoft has been promoting the integration between Windows 10 and Android, and this is something that with the Your Phone application you can use to make the most of the companionship between your computer and your mobile.
Android 12 Preview – How to install step by step
Available via Swiftkey beta for Android
This time it is not thanks to the Your Phone application that we can integrate Windows 10 and Android even more, but thanks to the SwiftKey keyboard app that Microsoft bought in 2016. If you install the SwiftKey beta from the Play Store you can now enjoy the clipboard sync between PC and mobile.
You must first make sure that the very useful but unknown Windows 10 clipboard history is active on your computer. To do this you just have to open the Setting (Windows key + I), select System, and then click Clipboard in the sidebar. Once there, you must activate:
- Clipboard history
- Synchronize between devices
- Check the box “Automatically sync the text I copy”
On your Android mobile, after installing SwiftKey beta and setting it as your default keyboard, you must go to the SwiftKey settings and select Rich writing. Then tap on Clipboard and activate the function “Synchronize clipboard history.
To confirm and finish the setting you will need to log in with your Microsoft account, the same one you use to log into your Windows 10 installation. Once this is done you just have to try it yourself.
Just copy anything to the clipboard on Android (text or images) and press the Windows + V in Windows 10 (or Windows 11) so that you get the history of options of what you have copied, including things copied from Android.
