The combination of tropical waves 18 and 19 and four more meteorological phenomena will cause intense to heavy rains this Friday in at least 24 Mexican entitiesmore than 70% of the country, warned the National Meteorological Service (SMN) of Mexico.
According to the forecast of the meteorological authorities of the Mexican Government, tropical wave number 18 will continue its passage through the center, south and gradually to the west of the country, while the recently formed tropical wave 19 runs through the Yucatan Peninsula, in the southeast Mexican.
Likewise, the SMN, belonging to the National Water Commission (Conagua) of Mexico, pointed out that there will be instability in the upper atmosphere, a low pressure channel in the southeast of the country, the Mexican monsoon and a low pressure zone with a 50% probability of cyclonic development.

The latter freak It was located in the 48-hour forecast of the SMN approximately 375 kilometers south-southwest of Acapulco, Guerrero, on the Mexican Gulf coast.

Meanwhile, for Chihuahua and Sonora, “intervals of showers” and for Baja California Sur, Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas “isolated rains”.
The most intense rains, which will be with electric shocksstrong gusts of wind and hailstormscould generate landslides, increase in river and stream levels, overflows and floods in low-lying areas of the mentioned states”, added the SMN.
The Mexican Meteorological Service also estimated strong winds with gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour and waves of up to four meters on the coasts of Colima, Guerrero and Michoacán, western Mexico.
At dawn on Friday, the agency expected minimum temperatures of between zero and five degrees Celsius in the mountains of the State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Puebla and Tlaxcala.
In contrast, a high pressure system positioned in the middle levels of the atmosphere will maintain a very hot afternoon environment in the northwest, north and northeast of the national territory, with maximum temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius.
In this sense, the Mexican authorities recommended that the population of these regions “take preventive measures, such as avoiding prolonged exposure to solar radiation, hydrating adequately, paying special attention to the chronically ill, children and the elderly, as well as following the indications of the Health and Civil Protection sector.
